Theme at Machine Quilter Showcase in Kansas ( MQS)„Fire and Ice“

Peer through the window, watch as two worlds collide. Flames from the earth reaching ever higher the coolness of the snowflakes.

Fire and Ice was pieced using my free cutting and piecing method for the flames. The snowflakes were paperpieced and the background was pieced using a watercolor technique, with color graduating from white to dark blue and yellow to dark red. The black/white border was pieced giving the border an “optical illusion” window frame.

The snowflakes and the flames are machine appliqued , embellished with Razzle Dazzle and about 50 000 Swarowski Chrystals.
