2015 • 225 x 200 cm
Inspired by M.C. Escher and Victor Vasarely, who worked with optical illusions in their artwork, I developed this show quilt named “Paradox” – working for the MQS theme: Optical Illusions
Nothing is as it appears, the viewers are able to search and find new ways – different perspectives are offered.
My way to create is to “paint with fabrics”: small pieces of Dupioni silk are placed together: the design created by the combination of hundreds of different colors, applications by hand and partly painted with textile colors.
I am not working according to an elaborate design plan – my “vision” is followed step by step and with creative flexibility for a growing process!
